On March 17, a team from the National Association of Charter School Authorizers presented the state Department of Education with its evaluation of how the state authorizes and monitors charter schools under its jurisdiction. The evaluation looked at the standards the department uses and how those standards are applied. In most instances, the state’s standards and practices received the two lowest ratings, “undeveloped” and “minimally developed.”
